David Hightower, Minister of Music
The First Baptist Church of Canton called David Hightower as its new Minister of Music on Sunday, January 27, 2008. The church is very excited to have David, along with his wife, Debbie and their son Ryan. The Hightowers also have a daughter, Lauren, who is a recent Baylor graduate living in Victoria, Texas.
David graduated from Baylor University with a B.M.E. in Vocal Music, along with a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served churches in Texas, Alabama, and North Carolina. Several new musical groups have been formed including Handbells, Youth Praise, and Joyful Sounds (55+) Choir. David is working towards developing a church orchestra as well as a Dulcimer Circle. He is excited about being in Canton and is looking forward to what the future holds at First Baptist.
